One held in forgery case in Silchar

SILCHAR, May 30: Of lately, the town of Silchar and its nearby areas have been plagued by the cases of forgery. After the case of providing false appointment letter, another forgery case regarding the provision of Aadhaar card have come up. One person has been arrested and 3 have fled. Ashim Sinha, aged 31, has been arrested on May 29 from his residence at Bhagatpur, Charihali area, in another forgery case. The residents of tiol Highway filed a complaint about Ashim and his three associates. Dipayan Chakraborty, president, BJP, Town Mandal Silchar, has informed that on May 29, Ashim Sinha started distributing Aadhaar cards from the early morning in lieu of documents produced by people who needed the card.

In the me of issuing Aadhaar card, documents have been collected from a large of people. Each form was given for Rs. 100. Consequently, till evening, Ashim Sinha and his partners-in-crime have collected a huge sum of rupees than one lakh and more. There were two Hindi-speaking people among the total four culprits. Dipayan had received the information at evening and rushed to the spot. He was accompanied by Mandal commissioner Kajal Roy, Rajesh Das, Commissioner of Ward No. 26 along with other persons. When Ashim Sinha and his associates were asked to show the order letter, Ashim sent the two Hindi-speaking persons inside his house. Failing to produce any relevant documents, they fled from the backside of Ashim’s house which was also submerged under waist-deep water. They fled with a laptop, a printer and false documents. Police was quickly informed and thus Ashim Sinha was arrested. People have expressed their grief at the occurrence of such cheating cases.
