One injured in firing by dacoits

GAON, Feb 7: In an open firing by a gang of dacoits on Monday night around 9 pm, a jewellery worker sustained severe injury in Dhing town.

According to sources, the injured worker has been identified as Bikash Das and he is undergoing treatment in gaon BP Civil Hospital. Sources added that the dacoits came on two motorcycles and they stopped the jeweller near Dhing Pujabari in Dhing town when he, along with one of his employees, was coming home after closing the shop. The dacoits tried to loot them. But when the jeweller and his employee tried to resist, the dacoits fired two rounds of bullets and fled away.

As a consequence, the employee sustained severe injury. Later, the local police of Dhing PS rushed to the spot and maged to send the injured to gaon BP Civil Hospital and simultaneously launched a search operation against the gang of dacoits in Dhing town and its nearby areas. But till the filing of this report, police have not been able to locate the gang.
