One killed in road mishap on Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu, another injured

TINSUKIA, July 22: In a tragic road mishap on the highly accident-prone Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu (Dholla-Sadiya Bridge) on Saturday afternoon involving a Pulsar bike and APSTC, the pillion rider Firoz Alam (53), who was a reputed shoe trader of New Market, Tinsukia, died on the spot. The bike rider Rafiqul Haq sustained serious leg injuries.

According to reports, a State Transport bus belonging to APSTC bearing number ARX 0482 coming from Sadiya side to Tinsukia knocked down the Pulsar bike bearing number AS 23B 3370 which was going ahead on the same direction. Alam was crushed under the wheel of the bus. The driver surrendered before Dholla PS along with the bus.
