One trampled to death by wild elephant

TANGLA, April 24: A wild jumbo created havoc and ransacked houses in Barmukoli village under Panery PS of Udalguri on Sunday morning. The wild jumbo also attacked Benzamin Tirkey (45) of the village, resulting in death of the person. Police have sent his body for post-mortem to Udalguri Civil Hospital. The wild jumbo also ransacked the houses of Ratiram Boro, Ganesh Boro and Berus Kasuwa. The local villagers alleged that though the forest officials had been informed, they did not take stock of the situation.
