Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Assam Asset felicitates Haj pilgrims

SIVASAGAR, July 17: ONGC, Assam Asset, in collaboration with ONGC Minority Employees’ Welfare Association (OMEWA), organized a felicitation programme for the Haj pilgrims of Sivasagar and Charaideo districts at Officers’ Club, Sivasagar recently. Executive Director and Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset, SD Maske gave a warm send off to the Haj pilgrims and wished the pilgrims a safe journey. While interacting with the pilgrims, Maske wished them well-being, success and smooth performance of Haj rituals. Maske appealed to the Haj pilgrims to pray for peace and prosperity of Assam, the nation and the whole world. He also suggested them to pray for growth and development of the State and ONGC as well.

Extending his heartfelt greetings to the Haj pilgrims, Maske emphasized that brotherhood, equality and mutual affection were the pillars of every religion. “The essence of all religions is humanism, love, brotherhood, tolerance and compassion for every fellow human being. We are members of the same family. People need to realize that every religion teaches us the idea to practice humanity,” Maske said, adding that Assam, the land of Sri Sri Sankardev and Azan Fakir, had been a confluence of different religious faiths.

During the programme, a total of 89 Haj pilgrims, including 30 female pilgrims, were felicitated by ED-Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset, SD Maske in presence of GM-Head HR/ER, ONGC, Assam Asset, Sanjay Goel, and a host of dignitaries. All the dignitaries expressed their views and suggestions and interacted with the Haj pilgrims. A community prayer was also held for world peace. During the programme, emergency medicine kit along with other essential materials were distributed among the pilgrims.
