ONGC to install 670 solar streetlights in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: As a part of Clean and Green initiatives of ONGC in Assam towards Swachh Bharat Mission and to promote uses of Non-Conventional Energy (Solar Light) in the region, ONGC, under its CSR initiative, would install total 670 numbers of Solar Street Light in Assam in the current Financial Year. At the 1st Phase, ONGC is installing 144 numbers of Solar Street Lights at Nazira Town (88 Nos.), Gelekey (26 Nos.) and Harmotigarh (30 Nos.), out of which, 26 numbers of Solar Street Lights have already been installed at Gelekey. Subsequently, 30 numbers of Solar Street Lights are being installed at Harmotigarh (Konwarpur & Santipur) and 88 numbers at Nazira Town. ONGC installed Solar Street Lights at Gelekey.

ONGC would install 246 numbers of Solar Street Lights at Patsaku, Simaluguri Town, Nazira Gandhi Maidan and Nazira Barburah Phukri in the next phase. ONGC has also sanctioned installing of 70 numbers of Solar Street Lights at Mahmora LAC and 110 numbers of Solar Street Lights at various locations of Sonari in Charaideo district.

Further under its CSR initiative, ONGC has sanctioned installing of 100 numbers of Solar Street Lights in 5 villages of Assam (average 20 numbers in each village), one each from the districts of Charaideo (Longpotia), Sivasagar (Kalugaon Dewalaya Gayan Gaon), Golaghat (Sokial), Majuli (Pokajhora) and Cachar (Khaspur). As always, ONGC has taken this initiative as a pro-active CSR measure and as a small step to improve social infrastructure and provide common facilities to the people of Assam.
