Open shelter community hall constructed

A Correspondent

Dibrugarh, April 17: In harmony with Operation Sadbhavana, the 9th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles of Laipuli Brigade, under the aegis of Dao Division, recently constructed open shelter community hall for locals at the Shalmari village here. The objective is to enable locals from the adjoining areas to congregate for cultural, religious and social events or gatherings. It should be noted that a similar project was carried out by the Army at the Murani village as well some days ago.

The Army, while inaugurating the hall, assured the people that those activities were a precursor to a host of other welfare activities, which would be carried out in the ensuing days in the interest of the local communities. Mention-worthy is the fact that such welfare-centric initiatives of the Army were garnering a positive response from the locals. On the one hand, they have helped many marginalised sections of the society gain more confidence, and on the other, they have enabled many others find a ray of hope in the face of hardships.
