Bongaigaon/Tamulpur, April 23: Based on technical input and ground sources about presence of G Bidai in Manas Reserve Forest, a large-scale operation was launched by Chirang Army in conjunction with SSB. According to sources, total number of security personnel deployed in the area is around 1,000. The security forces are carrying out extensive search of the jungle and have cordoned the area from all the sides. The potential activity in the rural area neighbouring Manas Reserve Forest has also increased. According to sources, security forces are also using helicopter for aerial recce and to slither down troupes at probable location of terrorists in the jungle. 
Simultaneously, another operation has been launched by Chirang and Kokrajhar Army in the forest area of Chirang. According to sources, the operation will involve a large number of troops (around 800). They will search the complete jungle and lay cordon along the periphery of the jungle. Sources said that the operation will involve use of tracker dogs and helicopters to track insurgents. This is a massive operation against NDFB, sources added.
