Organisations demand speedy Trans Arunachal Highway construction

Itanagar: Students unions from the districts in Siang belt, have pleaded West Siang DC to give directive to the concerned party to start the road works of Trans Arunachal Highway without further delay as the three districts are being badly hit by the deplorable road conditions for many years. West Siang District Students’ Union (WSDSU) president Lukken Gamlin, Siang District Students’ Union (SDSU) president Tagu Mibang and Upper Siang District Students Union (USDSU) president Kaming Bomong in a representation to the DC said that the stretch of road has been the lifeline of the three districts and commuters cannot bear the brunt of such condition which by now is not at all fit for movement of vehicles. The unions disclosed that government has placed sizeable amount for the maintenance of the road and handed over the amount to concerned Agency and firm to carry out the repairing works but the work are yet to start even after many months of sanctioning of fund.
