FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

Itagar, Feb 2: The All Mengio Youth Association (AMYA) and All Mengio Unemployed Engineer Union (AMUEU) has alleged gross misuse of sanctioned funds of Rs 1 crore for TFC schemes for the establishment of large cardamom garden and kiwi fruits garden at Mengio circle under Sagalee sub-division by the state horticulture department. Talking to reporters at Aruchal Press Club (APC) here today, AMYA President Gyamar Gunia alleged that out of the funds which were allocated under the 13th Fince Commission during 2014-15, only 40 per cent of the work has been completed so far. He added that the department has failed to issue much of the items required for the implementations of the schemes. “So far only barbed wires have been provided to the people,” Gunia alleged. Refuting the alleged claims of the department of spending an amount of Rs 9 lakhs on the establishment of kiwi garden in the area, the AMYA president said, “Till date no such Kiwi garden has been established in the area.”

Meanwhile, demanding the department to fulfil the requirements as per the allocated schemes, the members of AMYA and AMUEU also called for governor’s intervention on the alleged misuse of funds and termition of the officers involved.
