Organizations stage protest, demand setting up AIIMS in Raha

GAON (HAIBORGAON), June 28:  Demanding setting up of AIIMS at Raha, on Tuesday various organizations of the district led by AIIMS Demand Committee staged a demonstration in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner of gaon.

The AIIMS Demand Committee including Krishak Sramik Unyan Parishad, Scheduled Castes Students’ Union and others after the stir handed over separate memoranda to the Deputy Commissioner of gaon. All the organizations urged the government to change its decision to set up AIIMS at Changchari instead of Raha in gaon district as the expert committee of AIIMS had already given the green sigl to set up the institution at Raha. Krishak Sramik Unyan Parishad threatened to launch a consecutive 100-hour middle Assam bandh from July 1 unless the demand was fulfilled.
