MSAI March 11 : An Orientation Programme on Multi-sectoral Development Programme (MsDP) was conducted here thismorning in msai Block of msai District in Aruchal Pradesh this morning under the Chairmanship of R. K. Sharma the Deputy Commissioner of recently constituted msai District of Aruchal Pradesh.

The Panchayyat Members of msai Block, Women Welfare Association msai, representatives of Minority Community residing in msai Block, HGB’s, besides the officers of all key departments under Government of Aruchal Pradesh were present in the programme and took part in its effective deliberation. The Orientation Programme highlighted the purpose of the MsDP Programme, the MsDP Guidelines, Process of selection of proposals, role of Block and District-Level Committee etc for the effective realisation of the desired end , stated a press communique from Dc msai.

Meanwhile talking to the Sentinel, Mr Sharma reiterated the purpose of the programme being to ensure equitable share for minorities in important schemes of the Government, whereas MsDP provides resources for those projects which are crucial for the development of the minorities but could not be taken up due to idequate resources under the existing schemes of the Government or not falling within the guidelines of the existing schemes.

Mr Sharma shared that the MsDP indeed needs to be implemented with a lot of synergy so that the benefit goes to the minority communities in the maximum possible way.

However, it is also pertinent to note here that most of the schemes of 15 Point Programme as well as MsDP are implemented through the State Governments and therefore, the role of States and UTs is very important for the success of these Programmes in true spirit.
