Over loaded Coal Laden Truck seized by Police at Uriamghat in Golaghat, Driver Apprehended

Sarupathar: Uriamghat police of Dhansiri Subdivision seized a coal-loaded truck bearing registration no AS-05C-6259 and apprehended one driver on Tuesday.

As per reports, the driver identified as Sushil Basumatary was booked for allegedly carrying the coals without a valid permit or challan.

A case has been registered at Uriamghat police station under Dhansiri Subdivision in Golaghat district and the truck owner has been identified as Jiten Saikia.

Under case no 98/18, section 379/411 of the Indian Penal Code was imposed upon the driver.

Meanwhile, according to highly placed police sources, the overloaded coal-laden truck detained at Uriamghat was coming from across the State border of Dillijan, Dimapur in Nagaland and it was heading towards Uriamghat of Sarupathar.

It may be mentioned that when Umiamghat police were informed about the matter, a police team immediately rushed to the spot and apprehended the driver for not producing valid documents.

He was forwarded to police custody thereafter. Further investigations are on.
