PAC inspects 65-MW solar electricity plant

JOYSAGAR, May 24: The Public Accountability Committee (PAC) of the Assam Legislative Assembly led by senior MLA Atul Bora and Amguri MLA Pradip Hazarika, inspected the proposed 65-MW solar electricity plant under construction in Amguri Lalim Chapori in Sivasagar district on Wednesday. The committee members visited the construction site and took stock of the progress of the plant. This solar energy plant has been installed with technical assistance of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Government of India and the technical works have been done by the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The plant is expected to be ready for solar energy production and distribution by 2019. Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner PG Jha, Superintendent of Police SK Sonowal and APDCL chairperson Kalyani Baruah were present during the visit.
