TANGLA, May 23: Mecing dark bodies swooping around in the air is an everyday delight for the police guarding the Panery Police station of Udalguri. A number of bee hives and more than a thousand nocturl bats have been inhabiting the trees located in the campus of Panery police station of Udalguri district which have drawn the attention of the ture-loving people of the district.

Reportedly, for many years now these creatures have inhabited the trees, finding them a safe haven from the section of greedy people who hunt them for their livelihood. Reportedly even singing sensation Zubeen Garg recently visited the place to have a glimpse of these creatures. Visitors can see more than a thousand of nocturl bats hanging over the trees and hovering over the skies of the campus. The fact also reveals that the area has a healthy and balanced ecosystem as the bat population is one of the best tural indicators of the health of our environment. This is because bats flourish where the ecosystem is healthy and stable. The police station campus has offered the local bats and bees a much needed place to live.

Interestingly, besides bees, the bats also play a huge role in the pollition process. Bats help with the pollition of many types of fruits which include bas, mangoes and peaches. Bats are quite timid and basically ignore human being.
