Panic over gas emission from pipeline in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT, Dec 29: The people of Rupkolia area of Golaghat district are in a state of fear due to continuous emission of gas from a tube well since Monday. Sources said that Mohendra Gogoi of Rupkolia village installed a tube well in his home. The tube well mechanic started drilling a hole for installation of the pipe but gas started coming out from the hole. The mechanic immediately informed the police who called the ONGC officials and emergency fire services arrived in the area. The gas continues to come out till the filing of the report and ONGC officials have started examining the spot.
