Panigaon school faces erosion threat

 PANIGAON, April 23: The massive erosion caused by the Subansiri river is posing a threat to some riverine areas in Lakhimpur district and creating fears in the minds of the people residing along the river banks near Panigaon. The river is also posing a threat to No 52 Mudoi Primary School located at Mudoibeel under Luit Khablu village Panchayat  of oboicha in the district.  Locals said that the school is likely to be washed away as erosion by the river assumes mecing proportions. A teacher of the LP school that said the School would have to be shifted to some other place as the distance of the river is now just 10 meters away from the school.   The teacher blamed the government for not taking any measures to protect the area from the erosion.
