Panlal Oswal's birth anniversary observed

 DHUBRI, Nov 14: The 75th birth anniversary of social worker Dr. Panlal Oswal was celebrated here with a day-long programmes today which coincided the Children’s Day under the auspices of Dr. Panlal Oswal Memorial Committee.  As a part of the programme, bust of Oswal was unveiled by retired college teacher, Devendra th Sarma at the Rhino Research Products manufacturing unit premises and gifts containing educatiol and laying materials with chocolates were distributed among the students of 922 Junior Basic School of Dhubri town where Dr. Oswal studied in primary level.

 Beside this, committee to make this occasion memorable also doted a steel almirah, water-filter, water containers, buckets, tools, jugs, glasses, black board, chalk and dusters to the school.

 Committee which has been campaigning for clean and green Dhubri also distributed around 150 waste-bins among the shop-owners of Netaji Subhash Road of the town along with leaf-lets appealing the shop-owners to keep the town clean.

 Dhubri district information and public relation officer, Bikash Sarma iugurated the distribution and chaired the function in the school as the chief guest.  Other dignitaries who attended the programmes were retired college teachers, Devendra th Sarma and Debashish Bhattacharjee, Chairperson of Dhubri Municipal Board, Toma Das, former Chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board, Biswajit Kalita, headmistress of school, Alo Rani Karmakar, senior advocate, Giasuddin Ahmed, Dr. Muskura Ahmed, social worker, Dr. Saradindu Banerjee and eldest son of Dr. Panlal Oswal, Bimal Oswal.

 All the dignitaries while recalling the contribution of Dr. Oswal in the varied field of social works expressed satisfaction over the social welfare works being done by the memorial committee since its inception in 2OOO, a year after the death of Dr. Oswal in 1999.
