Papu River feasible for river boating

Itagar, March 7: In what could be termed as, 'tourism boost to majestic Papu Valley of East Kameng district, Northeastern Overseas Pvt Ltd, a city based adventurous private company in its report gave green sigl for all kinds of river boating at meandering Papu River. Recommendation of feasibility of boating came after parliamentary secretary for Tourism Mama tung deputed a three member team comprised of Roberto Miyu, maging director of the said company, Jaimer Jairam Tourism Information officer and Hassang Tok recently. The team successfully tested a trail run with inflatable motor mounted boat between Seba and Sede village stretches near about 10 kilometers. The introduction of motor boating at Papu River would be first of its kind in the entire state, as none of the running rivers has so far introduced motor boating. The company in its report said that stretch between Seba and Sede is viable for any kind of river boating, however said that approach road is required from the starting point. Motor boating can be runned smoothly both up and down stream, it informed. At the same time the company also said that debris in the river needs to be cleared for a smooth sail. Expressing pleasure over the recommendation delighted parliamentary secretary for Tourism who is also a local MLA stated that the introduction of motor boating in Papu River will not only boost the tourism sector in the district but also generate tourism revenues for the department. "Beside, spawning entrepreneurship, the motor boating introduction will turn the valley into adventurous tourist hot spot in entire state as the prospect of tourist inflow would be double up" tung added. He further stated that to realise the dream project, the department needs to work on infrastructural developments without which the project stands possible.
