Papum Pare hands over land for power sub-stations

Itagar, June 8:  The Papum Pare district administration on Tuesday handed over the land required for construction of 132 and 33KV sub-station under centrally sponsored scheme "Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening of Transmission & Distribution System in the state of Aruchal Pradesh".

DC Pooja Jain and DLR&SO Techi Hitlar handed over the land acquisition related documents during a short programme held at the DC's chamber.

The land required for the scheme at five locations under Papum Pare district jurisdiction are Hollongi and Sagalee for 132 KV sub-station measuring 15000 sqmtr each, Jote (3000Sqmtr), Midphu (3000Sqmtr) and Leporiang( 2400Sqmtr) required for the 33 KV-sub-station. The land required for 132KV sub-station was handed over to T K Tara, executive engineer (E) of newly created Transmission Division No-1, with head office at Chimpu while for 33 KV locations it was handed over to executive engineers (E) of the respective normal electrical division of Sagalee and harlagun.

The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) would execute the construction of these substation through global e-tendering process for which central government under Ministry of Power had sanctioned Rs 3200crore against the said project for state of Aruchal Pradesh and Sikkim under the said scheme.

After the completion of project, the sub-stations would be handed over to respective EE (E) of transmission and normal division under department of power for operation and future maintence.

PGCIL Comprehensive Scheme AGM, Subankar Das, deputy mager Aman Singh and representatives from respective Electrical Division of Sagalee and harlagun were present in the handing and taking over ceremony.

Papum Pare district got the distinction of being first for handing over land under the comprehensive scheme in the entire state. The land had been acquired under the provision of new Land Act-2013 by paying adequate land and asset compensation to the private land owners as per provision of said act.
