Parbatjhora, Baksa Bison advancing in BTC-Army football premier league

KOKRAJHAR, September 30: The U-19 youth participating in the jointly organized tourment by BTC and Indian Army were once again seen unleashing their passion at the game of football at Bijni BDSA playground and Shimla Rural Stadium in the Pool 'A' and Pool 'B' matches respectively.

In the first matches of the day at either of the venues, Kokrajhar Rhinos defeated Chirang Royals 2-0 while Baksa Bisons defeated Udalguri Titans by 2-0 in a thrilling match which was witnessed by large gathering of crowd form the local areas. Earlier in the second matches on Tuesday Tamulpur Thunder Warriors won against Bhergaon United by 2-1 at Shimla Rural Stadium and Parbatjhora Panthers won against Gossaigaon Lions by 3-1 at Bijni BDSA Stadium.

It may be mentioned here that the BTC-Army Goodwill premier football league featuring a total of ten teams mely Parbatjhora Panthers, Chirang Royals , Gossaigaon Lions, Mas Rhinos, Kokrajhar Rhinos, Udalguri Titans, Tamulpur Thunder Warriors, Baksa Bisons, Salbari Tigers and Bhergaon United got underway fromĀ  September 27. A grand opening ceremony was held at Magurmari Ground Kokrajhar on the first day of the championship. Both the Semi fils will be held on October 9 while the date of the fil is October 18.

The event has generated remarkable interest in the people of the area especially the youth. The passion for football is clearly visible in the sports loving society. The enthusiasm is to be seen to be believed. The local people have whole heartedly appreciated the effort jointly mooted by the BTC and Gajraj Corps, it is strongly felt that this event will inculcate a healthy sportsman spirit and team work amongst youth giving them a sense of direction and purpose. The Army has provided each team with, Jersey & Shorts with team me & league logo, boots. Shin Guards, track suit for coach & mager, and few other equipment.
