‘Parents have moral responsibility to send their children to school’

MARGHERITA, Feb 19: VIJI Child Help Centre, in collaboration with Legal Awareness Network Centre Margherita and ACMS, organized an awareness campaign on Right to Education of child at Dehing Tea Estate, Margherita on Sunday. The meeting was presided over by Chura Giri, Head of the Department of Sociology Margherita College, where Dr Mrili Konwar, Head of the Department of Hindi, Margherita College, Pappu Sah, president of Legal Awareness Network Centre, Margherita, ACMS leader  Umakanta Jaal, Margherita Jourlist’s Association organizing secretary Mithun Baruah and more than 100 people of Dehing Tea Estate were present. Chura Giri in his iugural speech said that without education a tion could not develop and that it was the moral responsibility of parents to send their children to school. The people of Dehing Tea Estate took a pledge that they would send their children to school.
