Parents of abandoned baby identified

gaon, March 9: The parents of a newborn baby who was recovered from a garbage damp at Panigaon Santibon two days ago, were identified on Sunday night.

The recovery of the newborn baby created chaos among the people of the area and they organized a public meeting on Sunday. In the meeting the people identified the parents of the baby. While the mother is a Class X student, the father of the child is a student of Class XII.

The parents were summoned to the meeting and the irate people even tried to thrash the alleged father. However, police arrived and brought the situation under control.

Later, police investigation revealed that the mother had abandoned the baby in the garbage dump to avoid social ridicule and humiliation. Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
