From Our  Special Correspondent

Silchar, Sept 19: A well known educationist, writer and former principal of Women’s College, Silchar, doted Rs.10 lakh to Sundari Mohan Charitable Trust which runs and mages the reputed charitable hospital known as Sundari Mohan Seva Bhawan at Sriko, 7 km from here, at a simple but solemn function held at her residence of Public Higher Secondary School Road, Bilpar, last Saturday. Parimal De handing over the cheque of Rs.10 lakh to Dr. Kumar Kanti Das, who is well known as Lakshman Das, director of the Seva Bhawan, seated on a chair due to age old factor, said, “This dotion is to help the hospital dedicated to the cause of the poor and downtrodden patients coming from different parts of this Barak Valley and also Tripura.”

Her modest dotion, she believes, will be of great help. In fact, her preference for this hospital for the poor has come in for high praise from the people of Barak Valley as this centre of treatment does not receive any regular or casual grant either from the Centre or from the state. Parimal De, it is significant to mention, was also the former Professor at Lady Keane College, Shillong. She was also known for her melodious songs, particularly Rabindra Sangeet. Overwhelmed by the dotion, Dr. Kumar Kanti Das expressed his deepest gratitude and thankfulness to Parimal De and said, “This help and cooperation would go a long way in inspiring and encouraging the medical and nursing staff as well as all those associated with the Seva Bhawan in extending all the necessary medical care and treatment to the patients admitted here.”
