Parliamentary panel interacts with villagers

SHILLONG, Jan 23: The Members of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment, led by its Chairman Ramesh Bais, today visited Mawkdok village under Laitkroh CR&D Block and interacted with representatives of 12 villages of the area. Interacting with the village representatives of the area, the Members of the Committee called upon the villagers to avail the different schemes and programmes of the Central government to uplift their socio-economic and well being. Men, women and youths gathered were also encouraged to avail the facilities of the different Schemes of the Central government, such as MUDRA, MNREGS, Jan Dhan Yoja, Atal Pension Yoja among others; whose purpose is for fincial inclusion of stakeholders concerned. Further,the members of parliamentary Standing Committee urged upon the people of the area to visit the bank magers and post masters to seek information on the various schemes available through these channelizing agencies and to avail the same for socio-economic up liftment. The delegation also emphasised on the importance of education and urged the parents and elders to put special thrust on the education of both female and male children for all round development.
