Parliamentary Secretary Gojen Gadi undertakes road repair work

ITANAGAR, July 11: Parliamentary Secretary Gojen Gadi on his own and with the help of the locals took up the responsibility to repair 42-km stretch of dilapidated road from Tai border point in Upper Subansiri district to Bam check post in West Siang district on Wednesday.

The prolonged incessant rain had eroded roads all over the district posing serious threat to commuters.

Gadi after inspecting the bad shape of TAH and other important roads in his assembly constituency has repaired the roads with the active support of the locals and HODs of his constituency for the convenience of commuters. “Gadi did what he was expected to do by taking up repairing of the road of 42-km stretch from Tai border point in Upper Subansiri district to Bam check post in West Siang district during June 21, 22 and 23 last in the first phase, a local said.”

Encouraged by overwhelming support by the locals, Gadi again launched second phase of social service to renovate and repair 24-km stretch of deplorable BRTF road from Basar (Nyigam village) to Ego (Hotel Tumsi).

More than 500 people under Gadi’s supervision joined the mass self help service which began at 8 am on Sunday last and continued till 10 pm against all odds.

SCIW-Shivam JV, T.K Engineering Consortium Pvt. Ltd., PWD, UD&H, power, PHED, RWD, WRD divisions & sub-divisions with logistic, men and machineries and police personnel pitched in with support at the initiative of Basar ADC. The participants also included all former panchayat leaders and GBs of Basar, Dari & Sago circles, members of various students’, women organisations, NGOs, welfare societies, GoAP employees. People of the district lauded Karyom Riram, T. Migo Basar, D. Tojo Basar, Mito Nyodu for sparing their earth movers voluntarily while Nyamik Riba Kamdak and Karjum Basar Kamdak gave machine operators.
