Party president row: Meghalaya BJP disagrees with tiol leadership

SHILLONG, Jan 6: The State Council Members of the BJP Meghalaya, who are waiting for the central leaders to conduct fresh elections for the Party’s president, has today disagreed with the statement made by BJP tiol spokesperson and in-charge Meghalaya lin S.Kohli in which he ruled out fresh election to the post of State party president. The State Council Members of the BJP Meghalaya in a statement released here on Wednesday questioned that the decision of lin Kohli to announce the me of Shibun Lyngdoh despite all 44 State Council Members have unimously proposed the me of Khlur Singh Lyngdoh for the post of State party president. They informed that all the State Mandal Presidents and State Council Members were not consulted by lin Kohli before announcing the me of Shibun Lyngdoh.  “We the State Council Members of BJP expect the Central leaders to conduct fresh election for the Post of President and tiol Council Member as we want and demand proper and transparent procedure as per the provision of the party’s constitution and this dictatorial act adopted by Kohli is not accepted by us,” the statement read.
