Paschim Guwahati Mahavidyalaya celebrates 40th foundation day

Dharapur, Sept 5: Along with Teachers Day celebrations on Tuesday, the entire Paschim Guwahati Mahavidyalaya fraternity turned out enthusiastically to observe its 40th foundation day with a day-long programme. After flag hoisting, Principal Dr Balendra Kumar Das offered smriti tarpan, followed by a general meeting presided over by college general board president Dr Dhirendra Kumar Sarma.

 The occasion was graced as Chief Guest by Dr Satyendra th Barman, Principal, B Borooah College, Guwahati, and as Guest of Honour by Rosie Kalita, APS, Addl Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Guwahati. The programme was marked by iuguration of ‘Voices’, wall magazine of the English department, and ‘The Economic Vision’, wall magazine of Economics department of the college.

 This was followed by release of 23rd issue of the college magazine ‘Nivedan’, volumes II and III of ‘Venture’, the little magazine of the English department, and PGM Economic Review published by the Economics department. Attended by members of the college governing body, faculty, students and community leaders of the locality, the programme ended with am prasanga and lighting of lamp in the evening.
