Passenger Amenities Committee inspects Rangia railway station

Rangia Sep 10: The central committee of Railway Passengers Amenities, Ministry of Railways, Government of India, headed by Ramanda Tripathi, Manisha Chatterjee and Ramdhan

Singh visited Rangia Railway station on Saturday. They were warmly welcomed by Raj Kumar Makowa, Additiol Divisiol Railway Mager, Rangia Railway Division.

The members of the committee inspected the entire Raiway station and reviewed the amenities of the passengers provided by the Railway authority in the railway stations. They also interacted with the passengers and the railway employees. They also visited tea stalls, Bhojolaya and other establishments of the station. They checked the license of the vendors. They suggested to improve the facilities in the toilets, sitting arrangement in the platform and to increase the number of fans in the station. They expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness of the station.

After inspection they visited Rangia Railway Divisiol office and attended a meeting with the DRM and all the officers of the division. From Rangia they started for New Bongaigaon and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Earlier, they visited Kamakhya temple and also inspected Guwahati Railway Station. The media persons requested the members to travel and inspect in the passenger trains and general compartment of the mail and express rail to know the actual picture of the passenger amenities. They also urged the members to suggest the Railway board for double track from New Bongaigoan to Agthori Railway station. The members assured to discuss this.
