Patanjali Authorities help Assam Police to arrest Satinath Baral who made derogatory statement on Sankardev

Darrang/Guwahati: Following the arrest of Satinath Baral, the Patanjali Yogpeeth yoga instructor in Kolkata by the team of Darrang Police on Thursday, Superintendent of Police, Sreejith T exclusively told The Sentinel that Assam Police had managed to arrest Baral with the cooperation of Patanjali authorities.

SP, Sreejith also stated that a team of Darrang police had arrested the main accused Satinath Baral based on information one week back.

Speaking to The Sentinel, SP Darrang, Sreejith said, “During our preliminary investigation we got to know that Satinath was seen somewhere in Delhi and accordingly a team had reached Delhi to apprehend him, but they couldn’t find whereabouts there. Later, we were told from our highly placed source that he was seen somewhere nearby Kolkata. He was tracked by our team today and was brought to Assam in a flight and was forwarded to jail.”

“There were several cases registered against the yoga instructor Satinath for his derogatory remarks upon the Saint Srimanta Sankardev. The first case was registered at Sipajhar PS 720/18. Later on, several cases were transferred to Sipajhar PS. Also, three more cases were registered at Mangaldia PS as well,” added SP Sreejith.

It may also be mentioned that Darrang police had also arrested the organizer of the yoga camp at Duni, Prahlad Das, however, he was released on bail.

SP also mentioned that organizer, Prahlad Das was not involved in the matter directly, so he was granted bail.

He also informed that Patanjali has dismissed and sacked him from the post of the yoga instructor after he made the derogatory statements upon Saint Srimanta Sankardev in Duni.

“Patanjali was in touch with me since last few days, after we arrested Satinath, they have also appreciated us. Patanjali respecting the local sentiments of the people had repented about the matter and cooperated with the Assam Police in apprehending him,” SP Sreejith added further.

Earlier, Yog Guru Swami Ramdev Baba was seen in the media where he clearly stated about the dismissal of yoga instructor Satinath Baral from his respective post.
