Patient attempts suicide

JORHAT, Nov 3: A patient jumped from the first floor of Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) of the Medicine department on Thursday and was seriously injured. He was later admitted at the Surgery ward, said hospital sources. The patient was identified as Carlos Munda (42). He was admitted in the Medicine ward on Wednesday. He hails from Chungi Tea Estate from line no. 4. He was suffering from serious liver disease and was depressed due to non-recovery over a couple of years, said a family member. A case has been registered at JMCH police outpost for suicide attempt.
