DEMOW, May 10: In Bokota Deoriting Gaon under Thowra constituency in Sivasagar district, Rebati Tanti (90) was taken in a plastic chair supported on a bamboo stick to Demow Model Hospital by her relatives on Tuesday. Nine 108 service ambulances of different places of Sivasagar district are in a garage of Demow. Not only the patients of Demow but also the people of the surroundings areas and villages are facing serious problems. During the tenure of the Congress government when Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma was the State Health Minister, the 108 ambulance service was introduced. Nine 108 ambulances are lying in a garage since such a long time but they have not been repaired as yet. “Is this the parivartan brought by the new government?” asked the local people of Demow. Due to lack of ambulance, Rebati Tanti (90), who is suffering from old-age ailments and cannot move her hands and legs, was taken to Deoriting Ghat by her relatives on a plastic chair supported by a bamboo stick. From Deoriting Ghat a team of jourlists of Demow took her to Demow Model Hospital in a car.
