Pay and use toilet iugurated

Silchar, Sept 18: In a bid to encourage people to inculcate clean toiletry and sanitation habits, a ‘pay and use toilet’ with all facilities was iugurated by Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly, MLA Dilip Kumar Paul in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Dr S Lakshman, IAS, at the premises of S M Dev Civil Hospital of this town on the auspicious occasion of Prime Minister rendra Modi’s 67th birthday on Sunday. The pay and use toilet, doted by ABCI Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, and maintained by Hospital Road Merchant Association, of Silchar, can be used by the people from 5.30 am to 10 pm.

There are 8 well furnished latrines, 2 bathrooms for men and women, 4 stand urils and 2 basins for people to use. There is a guard room, an aquaguard water purifier cum water cooler and a latrine for the handicaps. There are two more such pay and use toilets in the town. Dilip Kumar Paul urged upon the people to keep this toilet clean and that such steps are progressive indeed towards the path of cleanliness. The premises of the toilet will be under CCTV surveillance.
