Pay hike: SSA teachers seek clarification

SHILLONG, July 1: The All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers Association on Friday sought clarification from the State Project Director  and Director of SSA on the information received by them that salaries for SSA teachers will be hiked in the state. AMSSASTA president L. Marngar informed that the SPD and Director of SSA have confirmed that the information is true. However, the date for the hike and the actual amount to be augmented is still not known. The Association also submitted a memorandum demanding the intervention of the SPD into the “idequate” salaries received by teachers in West Khasi Hills and Ri-bhoi districts.
