PCA clinches Best Club Trophy in 4th Indian Golden Digital Circuit

Dibrugarh, October 18: The Photography Club of Assam (PCA), India, has clinched the Best Club Trophy in the 4th Indian Golden Digital Circuit which was held in Kolkata.

The members of the PCA who won the individual awards in the competition include Arup Bhattacharjee, who for his photograph captioned ‘Dream Destition’ received the Federation of Indian Photography Gold Medal under the Travel Section. Under the ture Section of the competition,  Ashok Kumar Barman of PCA  won the IUP Silver Medal for his photograph captioned  ‘Feeding Rhino’.

Under the Travel Section, Bhrigu Kumar Barman of PCA, won the Image Colleague Society Gold Medal for his photograph captioned ‘Together We Can’. Similarly, under the ture Section of the competition, Kuntala Roychoudhury  was awarded with the IUP RIBBON for her photograph captioned ‘Tug of War’, while Dr Rittwick Kumar Barman for his photograph captioned ‘Charging  Rhinos’ won the GDC Gold Medal under the ture Section.

The  competition was held among  53 countries like USA, UK, Chi, Russia, New Zealand, France, Cada, Portugal, Vietm, Australia, Norway, Cyprus, South Africa, Germany, Hong Kong,Turkey, Switzerland, Taiwan, Hungary, Wales, Romania, Scotland, Qatar, Italy and Finland.

The founder and president of PCA, Debasis Gogoi, in a press release said that the  photography competition, which is a world-level event, is approved by Federation Intertiol de I’Art Photographique ; Image Colleague Society (ICS) ; IUP and Federation of Indian Photography (FIP).

Notably the  members of PCA who were selected for this world level photography  competition are Arup Bhattacharjee, Ashok Kumar Das, Bhrigu Kumar Bayan, Bidyasagar Boruah, Ratjit Choudhury , Dibyendu Das, Himangshu Lahkar, Dr. Henry Nongrum, Jordon Borah, Kuntala Roychoudhury, Nikunja Das, Dr. Rittwick Barman, Subhadip Choudhury, Tanvir Parves Ahmed and Vikramjit Kakati.

Lauding the success of the members of PCA, the chairman of the Club, Bidyasagar Boruah stated that  determition and  hard work of the members of PCA had made the organization a hub of world class  photographers.  The club, which was founded in the year 2012 with its head office  at East Banipur, Dibrugarh, at present is one of the most  active and successful photography clubs of the country. The Photography Club of Assam secured third position in the Federation of  Indian  Photography Inter-Club Contest in 2015  and three members of the Club were felicitated for their outstanding works.

As part of the social welfare activities, PCA from the sale of photographs in the Annual Exhibition Pohar 4 held at Art Gallery, Guwahati, had contributed money to the flood victims of the State.
