PCI to constitute new synod soon

SHILLONG, Feb 20: The Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) which includes nine Synods in India will soon constitute a new Synod in the month of April later this year in the North Eastern state of Manipur.

This was informed by Rev. GS Lyttan, Administrative Secretary of General Assembly PCI at a time when he was delivering the message of God during the 47 service of Mawphlang Presbytery (KJP Synod Sepngi) which was held at Rangshken starting from February 17 and concluded today.

Rev Lyttan informed that PCI which includes nine Synod has a total followers of over 14,5871 and now PCI is preparing to constitute a new Synod at Manipur which will be known as the ‘Meitei Synod’.

He attributed the achievement toward the support given by the Mawphlang Presbytery who had placed a Mission worker in the border area between Myanmar and India.

The Rev further informed that in the General Assembly of PCI which was held at Mawsynram recently has decided to constitute another Provincial Synod in the state of Tripura.
