PDF has close links with the BJP: Pyngrope

SHILLONG, Feb 1: Former legislator and NPP candidate from Mawkynrew constituency Remington Pyngrope on Wednesday said that the newly floated People’s Democratic Front (PDF) had close links with the BJP. Addressing an election gathering at Kharang village, Pyngrope said that the PDF was spreading propaganda that the NPP had a nexus with the BJP. “Actually, it is the PDF that has close links with the BJP as in the Khasi Hills District Council (KHADC) the PDF is in alliance with the BJP,” Pyngrope said. He also said that BJP MDC Neil Antonio War was allotted the major portfolio of trade and fince in the present PDF-led executive committee in KHADC. “KHADC has now turned into a house where both PDF and BJP stay together,” Pyngrope said, adding that the PDF would not win any seat in the upcoming Assembly election. “Even PDF leader Pynshngain N Syiem, who is the KHADC CEM, will too lose from Mawsynram constituency,” Pyngrope said.
