PDMB stages protest over Bodoland state

KOKRAJHAR, July 19: People’s Democratic Movement for Bodoland (PDMB) held a three-hour sit-in at Dispur Last Gate on Monday to pressurize the Government of India to find an amicable settlement of the 87-year old Bodoland issue.

The president of the PDMP, Jebraram Mashahary said more than 100 PDMP activists participated in the dhar.  The dhar was addressed by Jebraram Mashahary, vice president Nobin Chandra Brahma and organizing secretary Amrit Rabha.  Mril Hazarika, the ULFA (peace talk) central member took part in the dhar for solidarity support to PDMB for finding an amicable settlement of long-pending issue of the Bodoland.

Prafulla Rabha, the chief convener of Rabha Development Council Development Committee also attended and addressed the gathering for solidarity support on the Bodoland issue. PDMB formally submitted a memorandum to the Home Minister of India, Rajth Singh demanding to expedite the peace talks between ceasefire groups of NDFB, re-initiate the tripartite talks with the Bodoland movement organizations and the Government of India to find an amicable and honourable settlement to the long-pending issue of Bodoland.
