PDS rice diverted to open market

DEMOW, Sept 25: Rice meant for public distribution system (PDS) has allegedly been sold in the open market by a section of traders in Demow area. Sources said on Friday a huge cache of  PDS rice bags were ferried  in a hand cart on NH-37 in Demow by a trader for selling it in the open market . A businessman of Rajmai had send five bags of rice to a businessman of Gajali , sources said. Local reporters had also seen that the businessman has stored a large number of rice bags containing PDS seal in his godown. Though the businessman told reporters that the rice bags were brought from a mill in Moran last night but he could not produce any receipt.
