Peace and harmony festival in Kokrajhar concludes

KOKRAJHAR, April 24: The Festival of Peace and Harmony organized by tiol Boro Christian Council (NBCC) concluded on Sunday at Besargaon ground in Kokrajhar district with an open prayer session. The three-long programme started on April 21 and concluded on Sunday. Several thousand Christ followers from various denomitiol and Churches took part in the festival. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary graced the concluding ceremony as special guest. He extended his best wishes to all sections of Christian believers and said that this was a good venture for bringing peace and harmony in the country. He said human society should come forward with dedication of holy services among the masses. He appealed for a healthy, peaceful and integrated society in the region.

 Numal Momin, MLA, who represented the Chief Minister of Assam, graced the occasion as distinguished guest. He said that people should work for welfare of the society to bring peace, development and integration.

Prof (Dr.) Rajendra B. Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Sam Higginbotham University of Agriculture Technology and Science, Allahabad attended as chief guest, Mominul Aowal, chairman of Minority Development Board of Assam, also attended as distinguished guest.

Talking to media persons, B. Mushahary, president of the NBCC, said that the festival had been organized by the tiol Bodo Christian Council (NBCC), an organization of different denomitiol Christ believers across the tion. The session organized several prayer sessions to bring peace and harmony among all sections of the society in the region. “Peace and integrity building is the prime vision of the festival,” said B Mushahary, organizer of the festival. Mushahary also said that Vijay Benedict was a famous Hindi film singer but now he only sung gospel songs and he had sung gospel songs in the conference.
