Peace rally held

SHILLONG, April 18: Thousands of people including students, disabled people and other religious group participated in a peace rally organized by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement Shillong Archdiocese on Saturday to express their solidarity against the transgressions towards various Christian institutions. The rally started form the U Soso Tham Auditorium and culmited at the Cathedral Church located at Lachumiere, Shillong in the city. Archbishop Dominic Jala, head of the Catholic Church Meghalaya, expressed his sorrow and condemned the attack on various Christian Institutions, while addressing the thousands of gathered people. The Archbishop said that “even though we thank God that we are living in a democratic county where everyone is assured of their rights, but the lives of our brothers and sisters are in danger because of the existence of some elements and events that are taking place which makes us feel insecure and threatened”.
