Pensioners’ body writes to fince minister

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

Silchar, Dec 30: Pensioner’s Association of Barak Valley has put forth their demand of lowering the age of pension benefit to 70 from 80 so that more pensioners can get the benefits and lead a much happier retired life. A group of pensioners of Lakhipur sub-division have urged the state government to lower the age limit for the benefit to 70 years. They have, however, expressed their satisfaction at the government’s circular of November 28 in both the print and the electronic media. They have sent a letter addressed to the State fince department recently and requested the department to consider their appeal.
