People of Assam want tsumi of change: Himanta

Mangaldai,  April 9:  On the last day of campaigning for the second phase of poll, BJP leader and star campaigner for the BJP-AGP-BPF alliance, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday addressed  a largely-attended rally in favour of BJP candidate of Mangaldai LAC, Gurujyoti Das at Neheru Maidan , Chapai here.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that during this election period he had visited all over the State from Sadiya to Dhubri and the whole State wanted a total wave of change, not simply a wave but a tsumi of change. Referring to the two different ways of election campaigning of both BJP and Congress, he strongly criticized Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and the Congress party of indulging in negative campaigning by maligning the persol image of Sarabanda Sonowal instead of focusing on the developmental agenda of the BJP-led alliance. Citing the publicity against the saffron party as being anti-Muslim, he reacted, “Is Congress the protector of Muslims. If so, why did Tarun Gogoi not arrange jobs for TET-qualified Muslim candidates?”  He added that if BJP formed the next government, it would be the government of Ram and Rahim.  Appealing all sections of voters, including youths serving outside the State irrespective of political ideology, to come out and vote for change.

On the other hand, Congress candidate for Mangaldai and Minister Basanta Das on the last day of campaign on Saturday took out an unprecedented election rally in the constituency with motorcycles and four wheelers. More than 20,000 supporters from various corners of the LAC took part in the rally.
