People oppose installation of crusher machine

Biswath Chariali, March 30: A strong protest was observed by the local residents of Magoni village under Krishpur Gaon Panchayat under Gohpur sub-division in Biswath district on Friday.  According to information, they staged a daylong demonstration protesting the proposed installation of a stone crusher machine in the residential area by a road construction company. One road construction company had allegedly obtained NOC from Krishpur Gaon Panchayat by misleading a section of the villagers and proposed to install the said machine at Magoni village beside the tiol Highway 15 amidst the protest of the villagers. Though the villagers approached the concerned authorities and Pollution Control Board, Tezpur by filing public litigation, the said company did not pay attention to their concern and continued its activities in this respect.
