People stage protest after rail accident

Lakhimpur, November 30: A train accident took place at Pohumora rail crossing in which two persons were killed on the spot. At around 8.30 pm on Sunday, the speeding express train which was travelling from Mukongsalek to Dekagaon hit a tractor at Pohumora rail crossing in which the driver and the worker of the tractor,  Ratan Pawe and Hiren Payeng were killed on the spot. After the accident, local people of Pohumora protested on Monday against the railway department for alleged risking the lives of people with such unmanned railway crossings. They blocked the train route for several hours and demanded of the railway department to construct a railway gate soon and to provide adequate relief to the families of the victims.
