People throng market for Eid

Dibrugarh, June 15: The market area of the town came to life on Friday, a day before Eid-ul-Fitr. People of all ages were seen flocking the new market area for Eid shopping. Moreover, in the absence of the blazing sun, people didn’t have any qualms to explore the market for longer than usual. Starting from clothes to perfume to dry fruits to sewai, they were seen buying everything. Special mention needs to be made of the fruit market which was especially adorned for the occasion. Several gates were also installed at prominent places with Eid greetings written on them. The two popular Eidgah - open-air enclosure reserved for Eid prayers - namely, Amolapatty Eidgah and Graham Bazar Eidgah were being made ready for the special Eid namaaz on Saturday.
