People urged to adhere to model code of conduct

TINSUKIA, November 8: The Assam Government has declared November 19 as paid holiday in those areas where by-elections will be held.  To participate in the electioneering exercise, all establishments like workshops, tea gardens, including banks will be closed, stated a DIPR Tinsukia press release. This will be effective also in Chabua, Doomdooma and Sadiya LAC segments of Tinsukia district under 14 Lakhimpur HPC which will go to poll on November 19, the release added.

The Tinsukia district administration has appealed to the general public to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct as restriction has been imposed on carrying cash more than Rs 50,000 and transportation of liquor and other objectioble items, the release further stated.
