People urged to make 'Swachhata Hi Sewa' campaign a success

Bongaigaon, Sept 26: State PHE Minister Rihon Daimary on Tuesday took part in the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign here in Chirang district. Attending a meeting held at Kajalgaon Bazar with the NGOs, the minister said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was a tionwide campaign run by the government with an aim to make India a clean country. He informed that this campaign involved construction of latrines, promoting sanitation programme in the rural and urban areas, cleaning streets, public places, roads and changing infrastructure of the country. In this connection, he urged everyone to get involved and make the campaign a success. He also asked the officials and public to keep away from using plastic products for any purposes to keep the surrounding environment always clean.

Gagan rzary, DIPRO, Chirang said that during the meeting, the dignitaries and public present in the meeting actively participated in the pledge-taking on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan  administered by the minister. “Rihon Daimary also took part in the cleanliness drive programme at Kajalgaon Bazar area. On the occasion, the minister also took part in the  plantation of saplings and sramdaan for IHHL programmes. Earlier, attending in the conference hall of the DC’s office, the minister ceremonially handed over fincial assistance to 13 flood-affected families out of 505 affected families in the district,” the DIPRO said.
