People urged to take active part in Swachhta Mission at Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: “Everyone has to participate in Assam’s Swachhta Mission,” said the convenor-cum-Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission for ‘North East NAMASTE States Swachh Bharat Mission’ Committee, Sotai Kri, at an event organized at MDK Girls’ College on Monday.

Highlighting the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, Kri appealed to everyone to take active part in cleaning the villages and towns. Terming Dibrugarh as a historical place, he regretted that the town was lagging behind in respect to cleanliness, and as such, a lot was needed to be done to fill the lacunae. He also urged the professors, employees and students to help Dr. Sashikanta Saikia, brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission for Assam, in his efforts.

In his speech, Dr. Saikia said that he would try to change the cleanliness factor of the town for the better in the next two months by working in coordination with the district administration and municipality board. Addressing the gathering, Principal of MDK Girls’ College, Dr. Dilip Kumar Bhuyan, called for a change in the mental outlook. He asked everyone to adopt a positive outlook.
