Person detained for using 'loud' silencer

SHILLONG, Oct 20: In a move to clamp down on traffic violators in the city the police have detained one person for using a modified silencer in his vehicle which was producing loud noise. Police informed that on October 17, at around 10 am, Dinoy Daimari of  Cleve Colony was detained at Laitumkhrah while he was driving his vehicle ML 05D 3937, Private Santro with modified silencer which was producing loud noise and disturbing the public. Later he was imposed a fine of Rs 5000 by the district magistrate.
